If you run your Serpent Viper 990e R 1/8 Electric On-Road Race Car (904008) mostly on clean pavement or prepared on-road tracks, metal-shielded bearings are usually the best choice. They roll with lower drag for more speed and longer run times. Rubber-Shielded sealed bearings add extra protection against dust and splash but have slightly more drag, so they are better if you see mixed or light off-road use instead of pure on-road racing.
